Board of Directors Meeting set for October 18 in San Marcos

The American GI Forum of Texas, Inc.: AUSTIN, Texas – State Commander Jesse Aguilera has called for the Board of Directors regularly scheduled Fall meeting on Friday October 18, 2024, from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm in San Marcos, Texas. The San Marcos GI Forum will host the meeting to be held at the San Marcos Chapter Facilities 625 S. Mitchell Street in San Marcos. If you plan to arrive Thursday, please call Jesse or the State office for hotel information. Some Hotels are close to the site on the west side of IH 35. The state did not block rooms in any hotel for this one-day meeting.

Proper Notices have been sent to all Officers and Local Commanders/Chairs via E-mailed from our data base and will also be posted on our website. If we do not have your email address, please forward it to the State so that it can be included on our records.

Registration starts at 9:00 am and the Board meeting will start at 9:30 am on Friday, October 18. State Officers, and all Region Commanders and Chairs are urged to attend. Local Commanders and Chairs are invited. Registration for the meeting is $30.00 per person which includes continental breakfast, coffee and refreshments and a catered lunch will be served. Meeting is scheduled to conclude at 4:00 pm but may run until 5:00 pm. An Executive Session is scheduled prior to the meeting, so officers, please try to be on time.

The meeting agenda including report on the Executive Session that include items that need to be addressed prior to the meeting. An Agenda will be provided for all registered attendees. Items will include the past National Conference, and issues relative to its outcome. Finance, Budget, Constitution amendments, State and Federal Charter, IRS designations of importance to our local Chapter’s status. Board travel and some proposed plans by the Board will be on the agenda. Every meeting is important. complete state and financial reports by AGIF Texas Office and by the Executive Board are scheduled as well as review and election or of our CEO.

Everyone present, in good standing and registered, will be permitted to participate in discussions. Only Board members may vote. Some items such resolutions, although passed, will be referred to the State Conference in June.

The next duly called Board meeting is our 2025 Mid-year Conference in February-March will be in Ft. Worth. The 2025 State Conference is Scheduled for June in Austin. The 2024 National Conference scheduled for Texas will be discussed. Updates for all events will be posted on the Texas AGIF website.
