San Marcos Chapter of American GI Forum of Texas, Inc. Hosts the 2021 Annual State Conference May 14-15 

American GI Forum of Texas, Inc. Report: SAN MARCOS, Texas – After a one-year absence, let’s reset our focus on helping Veterans while taking the opportunity to Celebrate 73 Years of service to Veterans and their Families. The San Marcos Chapter welcomes you and are happy for the opportunity to provide a venue the continuance of the organization’s progress while stepping up to the next level. 

Below are possible agenda items that will include reports on our finances, the state-of-the-state, and our new programs on the horizon. Fundraising, organizing strategies, and team-building capabilities to set goals on:

  • Membership growth • Community awareness • Current programs and reports of new major activities • Utilization of asset resources • A return to normalcy after a lengthy pandemic

A copy of the Agenda will be available to all attendees. We anticipate the entire day devoted to an array of topics unique to our organization and open for discussion. All members will participate in discussions to prepare for the 2021 August National Conference in San Antonio. 

The 2021 Conference

Conference Registration is $65.00 that includes Friday night reception, continental breakfast and a catered noon meal on Saturday. Hotel Group rates are $139.00 plus tax at the Comfort Inn & Suites located at 1053 Clovis Barker Drive (Group Account 4185051). Take advantage of these rates and of our San Marcos hospitality. We are eager to see everyone again. 

On Friday May 14, 2021 an Executive Board meeting is planned to review and approve the 2021-22 State Budget and will take place at the San Marcos GI Forum Edifice complex, 415 South Mitchell Street, San Marcos, Texas. Those arriving early are welcome to attend. An evening reception following the meeting will be take place at the same complex. 

The Annual Conference, a one-day event is set for Saturday, May 15 and is dedicated to our veterans – especially those whose commitment helped to establish the Organization. Our theme, “Honoring Our Past While Preparing for the Future” will remind us all of the vision, hard work, and difficult challenges that were overcome to establish our ongoing Organization which has persevered for 73 years.
